Port Royal

Port Royal Plantation is a private beachfront residential community on over 1,000 acres in beautiful Hilton Head Island. Port Royal has long been a place of gathering from Native Americans using it for hunting to European explorers for trading. During the Civil war, military occupation resulted in a small town busting with activity. Years later during the 1950’s, Hilton Head Island started being developed by the Sea Pines Company. Port Royal was to be residential with single family homes and an emphasis on preservation and nature. It’s history can still be seen at Mitchelville, Fort Walker, and the Steam Cannon on a guided tour!

Port Royal is Hilton Head Island’s only completely private oceanfront residential community with one mile of unobstructed beauty. They also have kayaking, tennis, pickleball, freshwater and saltwater fishing, an Olympic-sized pool, farming, sailing, three golf courses! Port Royal Golf Club was named “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest magazine and was designed by some of the best golf architects such as George Cobb, Pete Dye, and William Byrd. The three courses are: Barony, Planter’s Row, and Robber’s Row.
